The TX embedded module integrates all the core components of a common PC and is mounted onto an application specific carrier board. TX modules have a Industry standard SO-DIMM form factor of 67,6mm x 26mm, have specified pinouts and provide the functional requirements for an embedded application. These functions include, but are not limited to, graphics, network and multiple USB ports. A single ruggedized SO-DIMM connector provides the carrier board interface to carry all the I/O signals to and from the TX module. This SO-DIMM connector is a well known and proven high speed signal interface connector that is commonly used for memory cards in notebooks.

Carrier board designers can utilize as little or as many of the I/O interfaces as deemed necessary. The carrier board can therefore provide all the interface connectors required to attach the system to the application specific peripherals. This versatility allows the designer to create a dense and optimized package, which results in a more reliable product while simplifying system integration. Most importantly, TX applications are scalable, which means once a product has been developed, the product range can be diversified by using TX modules with a different performance class. Simply unplug one module and replace it with another, no redesign is necessary.

Our modules use ARM processors from NXP, ST Microelectronics and others. Using proven components and assembly only in our modern facility in Aachen, we produce modules to the highest standard of quality and reliability.

Custom manufacturing testing guarantees the highest product quality and reliability. On request, we also carry out climate tests according to your specifications. This is quality you can rely on!

Our computer module series are based on a family concept, which provides a pin-compatible layout with signals in the same location across processors. This provides flexibility and the ability to easily update your product to the latest processor and software.   By simply replacing the core module, your product can remain state-of-the-art throughout it’s life.

Starting with Processors with 10-15 year availability, Ka-Ro then selects all the other components on the module with the same extended lifecycle.  Components on the modules are updated as needed – with PCNs and software patches provided.   This ensures stability and an extended lifecycle for your product designed with Ka-Ro CoMs.

Your application is our focus. With comprehensive product maintenance, regular PCN´s and appropriate kernel updates (Mainline Linux), we take care of the core of your application, the computer. Ka-Ro has its own Windows Embedded Compact sources, which are used in the medical environment. Some things cannot be paid for with money.
